You might be a client reading this or a fellow industry vendor. Either way I hope this either gives insight or help to what we do to get ready for busy season!
First thing I do is send out emails to my clients a few months out from their wedding checking in! I send a questionnaire to gather more details and am available to hop on a call if they desire!
Second thing I do is get my gear all ready. I clear my SD cards, make sure my gear is working right and even purchase some new things I have been wanting/needing.
Third thing I do is make sure that I am in the right head space. Not only creatively but professionally. I make sure to mentally prepare by getting systems in place.
Here are my tips for other vendors: do a creative styled shoot testing out new gear, schedule those massages or chiropractors, clear your schedule so you don’t over book, make sure to take days off, practice discipline so you don’t procrastinate.
Here are my tips for clients: ask your vendors what way they would prefer to be communicated with as to make sure your messages don’t get lost or looked over. Just as you may be stressed with wedding planning so are vendors- let’s both not wait a week to respond.
Overall, starting early makes life easier on all fronts. No one likes last minute things.
PS this wedding I shot in New Jersey- the venue is absolutely stunning! I had a blast!
