I have always been a storyteller at heart. My love for capturing life's moments started in high school, where I spent two years in a video production class in my hometown in Southern California. I pitched, filmed and edited a new video every two weeks!
That passion led me to film school in Southern California, but by then, I was feeling a little burnt out on video production. So, I picked up my new camera and started capturing everyday life instead- small, meaningful moments that I never wanted to forget.
Then came a summer job at a Christian camp, where I learned the ins and outs of photo editing and fell even deeper in love with photography. I got really good at capturing people's emotions- their unfiltered, joy-filled, in-between moments. And just like that, I knew this was what I was meant to do.
But before I officially launched this dream, life took a detour. I decided I wanted to be a travel agent- which, I know, seems random. But if you have seen my work, you know I'm obsessed with beautiful locations, and I've always loved travel and adventure (so much so that I studied abroad in Ireland and spent a month gallivanting across Europe on my honeymoon!).
Speaking of romance- what was supposed to be a short-term adventure - packing up my car and driving across the country- led me to Midcoast Maine, where while staying at my family's "camp" - I met my husband, Wyatt. We had a modern romance meet-cute, matching on Bumble. What was not modern was getting married two weeks after meeting. Yep, you read that right.
We eloped in his kitchen, which then became my kitchen too. He never even officially proposed- which is ironic, considering how much I love capturing proposals for others! Just 2.5 months later we planned a more traditional backyard wedding on the coast of Maine.
Now, as a wife and mama, I feel even more deeply connected to the big moments and the little ones in between. I understand the mix of emotions that come with weddings, elopements, and starting a family. The joy, the excitement, the chaos, the beauty- those are the moments I live to capture. Because your love story is worth remembering, just as it is.
Oh, and if you're wondering- yes, there's a 50% chance you'll see Wyatt during out time together! He sometimes helps with video and accompanies me on my adventure sessions (he is a great snack runner). And BONUS Wyatt also is a notary public - he can marry you too!
