The months May-September are my absolute favorite in Maine. It is lighter later and the warmth is here. There is greenery everywhere you look and the skies are beautiful. This early September wedding was no exception- in fact it was way hotter than usual! The weddings this year were either hot, rainy or both!
Some things to make a note of: bring a gallon of water, bring protein bars for snacks, wear comfy shoes, breathable clothing, and maybe even a fan! I know everyone was wiping sweat off their forehead so a handkerchief would have been nice. You can never be too prepared for the heat.
I loved this wedding for a couple of reasons- one being that they put it together in 2.5 months just like me. Second being that they did it exactly the way they wanted to. They had no wedding party. They invited more people to the reception than ceremony. And it was at their families property!
I will still never get over the fact that I get to do this as a job. I loved how their parents, friends, and themselves came together to celebrate their love and loved ones. From the children to their dog- everyone was so very loved! Don’t forget about the people that got you to where you are!
I wanted to share an extensive gallery of theirs as I don’t like to bog down my portfolio page + it’s an extra exclusive for my curious folks! I would say this is about 10% of their final gallery- so imagine what I left on the chopping block for you all to wonder about!
As always you can request to see a full gallery! This wedding was six hours long of coverage with no getting ready requested from the bride! I left right after the sun went down at dusk. My husband stepped in to man the floor while I breastfed Lydia during dinner. It went off without a Hitch.
Location was Hallowell, Maine for wedding site. Couples portraits taken at Hallowell Recreation Pond in between ceremony and reception. Thank you to Colleen & Dustin for trusting me with their day and CoCo, his mom, for hiring me to capture it. I love these types of weddings- so chill.
