What a feat! I am so proud of myself for completing this vision I had! My first first ever content day! I can’t wait to share more photos on Instagram in the upcoming year! As I have so much to share I want to spread it out!
I first heard about the venue a year ago in May right before I was going to give birth to my daughter! They still had things to complete with the restoration but a lot was done and I could see the vision Laurie had for her venue!
So I knew it had to be the first place that I hosted a styled shoot/workshop! I was inspired by 70s themed tv shows like This is Us and That 70s Show – the vintage aesthetic fit the location perfectly. Let me share about the outfits!
So I got a wedding dress off of Etsy, thrifted a wedding dress at Miles Thrift Shop, got the engagement dress off of Etsy, used my corduroy jacket, got my veil out and had the models bring the rest! It was a true collaboration!
I reached out to Jess LaFleur to guest speak about social media and backend systems! Already she has been a huge inspiration to myself in downloading preview to map out my feed and posts for the upcoming months.
Laurie told me about her grand daughter who does make up and hair Des and she brought her friend Laynee. They were both so professional- showing up early, working together as a team, setting up systems and such!
I heard about Rebecca from instagram and how she has recently started to do florals professionally after doing friends weddings. She is good friends with photographer Katie Arnold who unfortanatley could not speak at a later date.
I had my recent photo student attend the content day! I was so grateful for her trusting me to put on a value packed day! With it being on a Monday at the start of busy season I have learned that it wasn’t as prime of a date as I hoped!
I got food at Station 118 which was local to the area in Thomaston. While it isn’t my families personal favorite place to eat, I know others loved it and that was no exception for the attendees the night of the content day.
I have to shout out Hannah and AJ for saying yes all the way back in late winter/early spring. She was pregnant at the time about to give birth to her second and even though it was hard, they honored their commitment since I couldn’t find anyone else.
Also to Molly and Boone who were a last minute week before replacements to someone who canceled after being committed for months. Boone even injured his ankle a few days before but still showed up in crutches. They were literal life savers.
And of course my husband who took off early, watched Lydia in between sessions, got the food for dinner, and drove back when I left my keys with him. I am always so grateful for him supporting my dreams and goals!
I think that is it. Overall, I learned a lot. It went pretty smoothly despite the hiccups along the way. I definitely felt the stress leave my body the next two days after lol- shoutout to my chiropractor in Waterville Christine.
Thank you for reading my blog reflecting back- written on July 1st despite the date of blog. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I did taking them. Can’t wait to continue to create in the future. Love you all- truly.
