This was purely a creative session for myself- I had always wanted to do a photoshoot with a girl and her horse. And now while India doesn’t own Monty- she does work at these stables and is around him all the time. They definitely are bonded and he is her kinship horse.
I wanted to some nice fun photos in a field to get my creativity going and to try out my new camera and lens. It was a great learning experience as with any new gear it takes a second to get used to. Speaking of- I totally forgot to change the standard settings from JPEG to RAW. Whoops.
These are the reasons you test out your new gear on a personal project and not a client. I think the photos still turned out great though- it was really fun to just have fun without the pressure of a paying client. Definitely something I recommend every photographer do from time to time.
I have always loved horses and couldn’t believe that I never properly shot with them since becoming a photographer! I have known people with horses and been around them- photographed them alone even but never a full on session type thing.
This is a traditional portrait session- resembling a senior session in a way. I have always loved these types of sessions but they happen so few and far between as most people don’t do a session with just themselves unless they have a “reason” like branding.
But you deserve to be celebrated. Whether you are moving, got a new haircut, got a promotion, love the new outfit you bought, need a new profile pic, want updated photos for your mom, and so on! The only reason you need is you want to just cause.
Having your photos done is a huge confidence booster! You know what your go to photo is for any headshot you need- any social media post you make- or dating profile you create! You don’t have to search and search for a good photo.
So save up some money and treat yourself to this like you would anything else. Because it is a treat. And you deserve it. I can’t wait to see your inquiry in my in box. If you are reading this you already love my work and have been wanting to work with me so- let’s do it!
